It’s the 1st of September, which means it’s International Blood Cancer Awareness Month ?
Blood Cancer Awareness Month takes place across the globe every September to raise awareness and understanding of blood cancer.
Back in April, the Peach team registered to become potential blood stem cell donors with DKMS UK
DKMS UK is an international charity dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders.
DKMS UK gives hope to people living with blood cancer or a blood disorder. They use a global stem cell register to search for a match for someone in need of a blood stem cell donation.
It was really easy to join the register, there were just a few questions you had to answer online to check you were eligible and then a cheek-swab kit was delivered to you. The swab took less than 10 minutes and was then freeposted to the lab – simple!
