From April 2023, increases to the following statutory minimum rates will take effect:
National living wage (applicable to anyone aged 23+)
£9.50 -> £10.42 per hour
National minimum wage (applicable to apprentices and anyone aged 16-22)
- 21-22 £9.18 -> £10.18 per hour
- 18-20 £6.83 -> £7.49 per hour
- 16-17 £4.81 -> £5.28 per hour
- Apprentices £4.81 -> £5.28 per hour
Family leave (statutory maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental and parental bereavement)
£156.66 -> £172.48 per week
Sick pay (SSP)
£99.35 -> £109.40 per week
Accommodation rates
Accommodation provided by an employer can be taken into account when calculating the National living/minimum wage rate.
Daily accommodation offset rate changes:
£8.70 -> £9.10
Note – No other kind of company benefit (such as food, car, childcare vouchers) counts towards the minimum wage.
