Bullying and harassment is behaviour that makes someone feel intimidated or offended and is subjective to each individual.
Legally, harassment is unlawful under the Equality Act 2010 if it is on the grounds of age, sex, sexual orientation, disability, gender reassignment, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief.
Some examples of this could include spreading rumours, insulting someone by word or behaviour, picking on someone, excluding someone, or subjecting someone to unwelcome sexual advances, this is not an exhaustive list and therefore, if you feel that you are being subjected to such behaviour at your workplace our Employment Lawyers can advise you.
Even if it does not fall within one of the above categories it is still unacceptable and may form part of a constructive dismissal claim.
