There are a number of changes coming in to force that employers will need to be made aware of. From the 1 August 2020:
- The government will be relaxing their guidance regarding working from home and leaves it to the employers discretion. If employers are wanting their employees to return to the workplace they must make sure that it is COVID-19 Secure. Some businesses have made the decision to carry on working from home until 2021! - The guidance changes to say that those who were shielding are able to go back into the workplace. Employers will need to communicate with employees in the safety measures put in place and listen to any concerns.
- The Flexible Furlough Scheme changes by requiring employers to pay National Insurance and Pension contributions for those on the scheme. This will be an additional cost, albeit a small one, for employers to factor in.
